We are located within an easy 10 minute walk from the city centre. Launceston offers a generous choice of quaint antique shops, galleries, craft outlets, old fashioned pubs and gourmet restaurants. Come and sample some of Tasmania's famous food, beer and wine.
Launceston, being the third oldest city in Australia after Sydney and Hobart, is a haven for those interested in Georgian and Victorian architecture. Windmill Hill is within walking distance of street after street of beautiful buildings, many of which are National Trust listed.
The famous Cataract Gorge is a beautiful place to visit. Take a ride on the chair lift while you are there.
Launceston is the hub of Northern Tasmania and therefore Windmill Hill Lodge is the ideal Bed & Breakfast in which to stay while touring the region. Spend a day at Cradle Mountain which is an easy drive from launceston, then on the next day drive to Ben Lomond for skiing and general playing around in the snow. A trip through some of Tasmania's finest wineries is a must while visiting Launceston. Several companies offer bus tours, or if you chose, drive yourself. You will always be welcome at the cellar door.

We are located an easy fifteen minute drive from Launceston therfore all the same amenities are available as if you were in town but you have the added advantage of going home to a quiet country village when you have had enough of people and activity. Every Sunday the famous Evandale markets are held in the showgrounds, a 200m walk from your front door.
