Our ocean view bungalows are nestled in tropical gardens; they all have ceiling fans, private ensuites, a small refrigerator with coffee and tea facilities and a balcony to relax on. Our recently built ocean view restaurant features a blackboard menu that changes daily as it is based on the supply of local organic and seasonal produce as well as the "catch of the day". The restaurant also has a comfortable guest lounge in which to relax and enjoy the view. The full service bar is open all day until late for your convenience.

DAY TOURS, ACTIVITIES AND 4WD ADVENTURES


YASUR VOLCANO SAFARI – 6 hrs VT 13,125 pp min, VT 6,560 child, 2 person minimum

Departing 2:30 pm experience the awesome majesty of mighty Yasur Volcano. Travel by 4wd to the far side of Tanna. As you make your journey you will pass through villages and farms, visit the wild horses on White Grass Plains and midway through you will crest Mt. Loanialu where we stop for a photo opportunity of the distant volcano, black sand surf beaches and Sulphur Bay. Enter Yasur village and trace your way across the moon like landscape of the ash plain. Drive past a mighty waterfall (wet season) and through a lush rainforest before ascending the crater. A short 10 min walk will take you to the rim of the crater where you will be able to wonder at the power of nature.
Note: The weather conditions at the Volcano are unpredictable, the management accepts no responsibility for impaired viewing due to rain, cloud or wind conditions. A jacket and walking shoes are recommended.


KUSTOM VILLAGES AND CULTURAL VILLAGE TOURS

Lokalangia Kustom Village – Lowinio - 3 hrs VT 6,500 adult VT 3,250 child
Departing at 8.30am Lowinio village is approximately a 45 minute drive into the jungle where you have the opportunity to experience a way of life that has not changed in centuries. The villagers have resisted the trappings of Western culture and continue to embrace a subsistence way of life dominated by their belief in “Kastom”. This tour allows our guests a brief and interesting insight into the daily life of a local tribe. Some handicrafts are available for purchase.



BLACK MAGIC & KAVA TASTING – 3 hrs VT 6,500 adult VT 3,250 child, min 2
Departing at 1.00pm. You will be transported by 4wd to experience the rituals of Black Magic practiced by a Warrior Tribe in the highlands of Tanna. Never before has this tribe, who still live the way they have for hundreds of years, shared its black magic secrets. The warriors will explain their practices and trickery which are still used today on rival villages. See the art of ambush in action. The warriors will challenge you with their traditional weapons (bows & arrows, spears etc). See the Kava plant before it is prepared and then taste the “real thing”. See the coffee plant and see the process of harvesting it. All of your senses will be aroused and your adrenalin will pump on this special, spiritual tour. You will be surprised and amazed at the Kustom beliefs and practices.

4WD TANNA HIGHLIGHTS - 4hrs VT 6000 adult, 3000 child min 2
Depart 8.30 am or 12.30 pm - 3 hours. Visit the Coffee hulling plant home of Tanna organic coffee followed by the Lenakel College. Then off to the main town of Lenakel (markets Friday and Monday only) Isangel where you will see the open-air Supreme Court Building. You will drive back along the beach past Banyan trees, the Catholic mission, and many other interesting sights of the West Coast. This tour is very adventurous & informative as your driver/guide shows you his piece of Tanna island.


LOUNIEL SURF BEACH & WATERFALL SAFARI
VT 6,500 pp, VT 3,250 per child min 2
Depart 8.30am. Cross to the far side of the island by 4wd to Louniel village. Follow the steep and scenic descent on a purpose built track to the magnificent 40m waterfall where you can swim beneath its cascading waters with the local village children or simply take in the scenery. Following your return to the vehicle our guide will drive you to the black beach lookout where you enjoy a panoramic view of the black sand coastline and Mt Yasur volcano in the distance. Continue on to the black sand beach where you have free time to enjoy your picnic lunch, swim, horse ride or stroll along the volcanic sand. Refresh yourselves in the natural spring water that flows to the sea before your return journey to your accommodation.
Note. The walk to and from the waterfall requires a reasonable level of fitness due to the steep incline. Appropriate footwear is a must. Includes Lunch.

BOAT TOURS AND WATER SPORTS


BLUE CAVE (Lemnap underwater cave) - 4 hrs VT 8,250 pp, VT 4,125 per child

Depart resort at 8.30am. The boatmen from the North will transport you by fishing boat along the magical limestone coast. Along the way the boatmen may trawl Tanna style for Wahoo or Yellow Fin Tuna. You will pass ancient caves and deserted beaches plus the amazing Lemnap (Blue) Cave, the highlight of your trip to North Tanna. To access this remarkable natural cavern you will take a short dive underwater of approximately half a metre into the turquoise interior. Here you will see that nature has created a stunning grotto, 60 metres in diameter, which is lit from above by a shaft of light filtering down through a 5 metre hole in the caves roof. The effect is breathtaking. You need to be able to swim and put your head underwater. You will return to the resort approx 11.30am. Remember to bring: Water, hat, sunscreen, towel, swimmers, mask, snorkel, waterproof camera.



GAME FISHING – TANNA STYLE – approx. 4 hrs min 2/max 3
VT10,000 pp including Rods and tackle hire.
Departing from the resort in the early morning, travelling by motorized fishing boat with one of our local fishermen. Local game fish includes Marlin, Wahoo, Yellow Fin Tuna, Barracuda and Skipjack. All caught fish belong to the village and the fish are either then purchased by the resort off the fisherman for dinner or given to their village. Fishing tours are subject to weather conditions and boat/fisherman availability.



REEF WALKING
At low tide the coral shelf exposes itself and allows you to explore its myriad of rock pools and crevices. Please do not remove live shells as they are home to many of the sea creatures. A limited amount of coral shoes are available for hire at reception. Hire VT 300


AROUND AND ABOUT THE RESORT

SNORKELING THE BLUE HOLES
Ask our friendly staff for directions to Blue Hole 1, Blue Hole 2, Pikanini Hole and Green turtle reef (Low tide and in calm weather conditions only) for some enjoyable snorkeling. Equipment is available in the gift and sports shop and are equipment is free of charge.

JOGGING TRACK
Surrounding the golf course is a dirt track suitable for joggers, join the track behind the bungalows and head off around the telephone tower, back behind the work shop and then follow the golf course and down our driveway to join up with the track again.

GAMES
Located on our resort we have a 6 hole pitch n putt golf course, tennis, badminton, volleyball, petanque (bocci) and croquet. Please see our Gift and Sports Shop for equipment.

HIKING AND BIKING

MOUNTAIN BIKE HIRE

There are many fascinating villages, beaches and points of interest within an easy ride of the resort. We have many listed bike trails or leave you to your own exploration. A picnic lunch is available should you wish to enjoy a full day ride. There is no cost to use the resort mountain bikes.

Note: Beaches in Tanna are private and entry fees may apply. Reception will advise which beaches are accessible to guests and what costs are incurred if any.

HIKING ON THE WHITE GRASS PLAINS
Only a short 30 min walk from the resort you will reach the famed White Grass Plains, home of the wild horses. Sensational panoramic views of the Pacific ocean and coastline are yours to enjoy. Opposite the Resort take the narrow path and veer to the left away from the house, as you walk to the end of the flat area you will see the path climb to the left of the water tanks. Ask one of our staff to point you in the right direction. Should you wish to explore further why not take a picnic lunch. See reception to arrange.
