For more than 100 years Totara Country Lodge has been home for one family.
In 2006 new owner Beth Mackay lovingly refurbished the historic kauri villa to a high standard. With deep respect for history, she has taken care to retain as much as possible of the character and detail of the original pitsawn timber home.
Set on a ridge above the main road, the lodge and gardens afford glimpses of beautiful deepwater Whangaroa Harbour. The gracious old villa is warm and cosy inside, but generously endowed with verandahs for relaxation.
