Located in Kensington Gardens near Hyde Park, Thistle Kensington Gardens is one of the rare four star hotels in London that can boast royal neighbours. In fact, the 'house next door' to Thistle Kensington Gardens hotel is Kensington Palace, former out-of-town retreat of William III, birthplace of Queen Victoria and, more recently, home of Diana, Princess of Wales. Across the road are the Kensington gardens from which we take our name. These gardens were the pet project of Queen Anne.

The west of London has a host of attractions from the expanse of Hyde Park to the ever popular Kensington area.

Hyde Park is the largest open space in central London, with a perimeter of more than four miles stretching from Marble Arch in the East to Kensington Palace in the West. The park is often used for horse riding and hosts open-air events in the summer.

Kensington Palace is another popular location for tourists. A working royal residence, the palace was the birthplace and childhood home of Queen Victoria.
