Whilst for leisure pursuits there are over 250 retail outlets at the nearby East Coast Mall (ECM). With brands like Clarks, Bonia, Crocs, Parkson Grand, Samsonite, Body Shop and many more, you will be spoilt for choice.

Sights to see when in Kuantan include Sungai Lembing, some 25km away. This historically quaint village, once a thriving mining town, offers a glimpse of old-style living which has remain unchanged since the fall of tin prices.

Climb the hill in the early hours of the morning to witness the famed Lembing sun rise that is guaranteed to take your breath away, get an introduction of local produce with a walk through the local market , tease your palate with home-cooked food, visit the tin mine museum - visiting Sungai Lembing is an eye-opener as well as an education. A trip to this town equates a trip back in time, a visit well worth its while.

Within close proximity to Kuantan town is the Sungai Pandan Waterfall, a series of nine cascading rapids of fresh waters from the hills ending in a cooling natural pool. Pack a picnic basket for a leisurely day at the falls.

For some myths and legend, visit Lake Chini aka TasikChini, approximately an hour and a half?s drive away. Lake Chini is the second largest natural lake in the country believed to be guarded by a mythical ancient creature. Blossoming of Lotus flowers adorn the lake almost year round providing a breathtaking sight.

Taman Negara, the 130-million year old National Park of Malaysia, is the gateway to the oldest rain forests in the world. Apart from admiring the great variety of fauna and flora, visitors can also experience the longest canopy walk in the world. Scale the highest mountain in Malaysia, GunungTahan or explore the jungle trails and re-connect with nature.
