From skydiving, bungy jumping, white water rafting and jetboating to breathtaking helicopter flights, wine tasting, Milford Sound day trips and 4wd tours through Lord of the Rings country. Queenstown will satisfy even the most ravenous appetite for adventure.
Queenstown CBD is quite compact and walking is a great way to discover the retail outlets, art galleries, bars and restaurants.
If you don’t wish to rent a car whilst you are in town, there are a number of options to get around. The local bus service Connectabus is a great way to explore the area and operates from early morning to late at night.
Airport shuttles run regularly, and there are a number of taxi companies in Queenstown. Buses also provide connections to Glenorchy (approximately 45 mins away) and further afield to Wanaka, Invercargill, Dunedin and Christchurch.
Most activity and accommodation providers offer free shuttles to/from the town centre.
During the winter season, there are a number of shuttle buses which operate daily from town to Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and Cardrona Alpine Resort. Skydiving, bungy jumping, jetboating, canyon swinging, whitewater rafting, heli-skiing. Queenstown's reputation as New Zealands adventure capital is well deserved.
