Salmon Ponds & Trout Hatchery (including Pancakes by the Pond)
The Salmon Ponds, is the oldest trout hatchery in the Southern Hemisphere. It was the birthplace of trout in Australia and the origin of Tasmania?s legendary trout fishery.
Take a walk back in time amidst the historic buildings, hatchery and fish ponds ? all set within the original 19th century English style public open space of superb trees, hedges and lawns.
Enjoy fine food and refreshments at the fully licensed Pancakes by the Ponds, while overlooking the ponds and gardens.

Mt Field National Park
Mount Field is the location of what must be the most photographed waterfall in Tasmania - Russell Falls. Its three elegant tiers, framed by lush vegetation, have attracted visitors for well over a hundred years.

Tasmanian Devil Jet
For a devil of a ride, join us on the Devil Jet for 30 minutes of action packed excitement on the beautiful upper reaches of the Derwent River.

Power on up the river, past rustic scenery steeped in convict history, and experience the thrill of shooting the wild Derwent River rapids as you skim over the exploding white water between exposed rocks. Add a few 360 degree spins on this 20 kilometre round trip, and you have jet boating at its best.

Derwent Valley Railway
The first section of the Derwent Valley Line was opened in 1886. Tourist rail excursions operate on the Tasmanian rail system and more particularly the beautiful Derwent Valley Line.

Cadbury Chocolate Factory
Visit the Cadbury Visitor Centre in Claremont Tasmania and enjoy a comprehensive talk by our qualified presenters on how chocolate is made and the history of Cadbury and a short film showing the production in the factory. The Cadbury souvenir shop, the Cadbury chocolate shop and the Cadbury cafe.

The Toll House
The Toll House showcases locally-made arts and crafts, produce and clothing. Producers and craft workers along the Rivers Run Touring route - which extends from New Norfolk to Derwent Bridge in the state?s west - create all products displayed at the gallery. Crafts include pottery, woodwork, painting and photographs. You can choose from a range of quality Tasmanian produce including honey, jams, Elderflower drinks, olive oil and olives, preserves and fine Tasmanian wines. Locally designed and made clothes and Alpaca fleece products are also available.

Norske Skog
Norske Skog is a world leading producer of newsprint and magazine paper. Situated in Southern Tasmania, the mill produced Australia?s first newsprint in 1941.

Willow Court Convict Hospital & Mental Asylum
This historic site with several heritage listed buildings was original built as a military hospital in 1830.

Salamanca Place
Salamanca is lined with a long row of simple Georgian sandstone warehouses built in the 1830s. These mellow north-facing buildings once stored grain, wool, whale oil, apples and imported goods from around the world. Nowadays, you can wander under the heavy stone arches to find craft and design shops, jewellers, coffee shops, restaurants, the Peacock Theatre, subterranean bookshops, outdoor gear, and fashion boutiques or you can climb the stairs to the Salamanca Arts Centre and artists' galleries.

The Agrarian Kitchen
The Agrarian Kitchen is a sustainable farm-based cooking school situated in a 19th century schoolhouse at Lachlan, 45 minutes from Hobart in Tasmania?s Derwent Valley, Australia.
Set on five acres, The Agrarian Kitchen incorporates an extensive vegetable garden, orchard, berry patch and herb garden, grown using organic principles.
Cooking classes are led by Rodney Dunn, former food editor of Australian Gourmet Traveller magazine and one-time apprentice to Australian Chef Tetsuya Wakuda, as well as a supporting cast of Tasmanian cooks and producers.
