Koh Samet hotels

Bangkok's nearby paradise for parties or relaxing, Koh Samet, is much closer and much more beautiful than you'd expect. If you don't have time to head to the islands down south or want to try somewhere a bit less touristy, take a look at our Koh Samet hotels and book a stay on this surprising island.

Surrounded by warm, turquoise waters and home to a number of lovely white sand beaches, it is amazing to think you can access these pleasures so close to the capital. Samet isn't a secret though and it is most popular with Thais and expats but less so with tourists. As a result the weekends are often quite busy and booking one of our Koh Samet resorts in advance is advised. The weekdays, on the other hand, are pretty deserted and perfect if you want a peaceful break with few distractions.

The island's East coast is centred around the main beach, Haad Saai Kaew. Budget accommodation and late night partying can be found on this stretch as a healthy mix of visitors create a fun but not overbearing atmosphere. Meanwhile the West coast has a much smaller selection of beaches and is generally dominated by higher end resorts. If it's luxury and seclusion you need, this is the coast for you. Koh Samet is renowned for its glorious weather all year round and this is yet another reason it's such a great getaway from Bangkok.

A thrilling speedboat or trundling ferry can be caught from mainland Thailand to the island and once there, there are plenty of four-wheel drive taxis to take you to one of our Ko Samet hotels.
