Phuket - Nai Thon Beach Hotels

You usually get one of two things when it comes to Phuket beaches. They’re either in the fun southern part of the island but crowded, or peaceful and relaxed but far away from it all. Prefer a bit of both? The stunning Nai Thon Beach strikes the perfect balance between the two. With a stunning stretch of golden sand and glistening blue water, it is the ideal spot to get away from the crowds and enjoy a peaceful swim.If it’s your first time to Phuket, check out our Nai Thon Beach hotels which will place you in the heart of the island’s amazing beauty.

Resembling beaches on the Cote d’Azur but with sand instead of pebbles, you won’t believe your eyes when you first step onto the warm (sometimes hot) sand of Nai Thon. The sandbar is long and wide, sloping gracefully into clear, calm waters that turn from turquoise to a richer hue of blue the further out you go. Small and quiet clusters of beach umbrellas and deck chairs line the beach between the sea and tall trees which offer shade and respite from the heat when you need it. A small rock formation splits the beach in half, and as you walk past it to the north, you’ll find an even more serene area than the one you just left. To the south you’ll discover the island’s last remaining virgin rainforests which make it feel like a true island paradise.

When you’ve blissed out enough in the sun and sea, diving or swimming through the waves, you’ll need to quench your thirst and quell your appetite, so wander past some of the beachside restaurants or beach vendors to see what takes your fancy. Some are so close you could almost keep your feet in the water while you chow down on lovely seafood and sip an icy cold beverage.

So, what else is there to do if you want to explore beyond this tropical paradise? Well, just hopping one beach south to Bang Tao brings you to the stretch of southwest coastline that is Phuket’s claim to fame. Here you have the beach club and stylish Bang Tao and Surin Beaches, as well as the not-to-be-missed craziness of Patong Beach further south followed by the favourite hip seaside Kata and Nai Harn. It’s all there lined up for you, all you have to do is follow the beach road. Patong will give you all the western food, shopping and modern restaurants you could want, but if you want something a little more local, move inland from the seafront roads on any beach and you’ll find markets and small eateries where Phuketians get their food at great prices.

As if the warm and soothing Andaman Sea wasn’t enough, you’ll find out just how much Thais likes cooling off if you visit in April. The Songkran water festival celebrates the Thai New Year, taking place in the days leading up to the 15th of April. Phuket’s populated areas become pockets of joyous and energetic water fights. Traffic comes to a stop and music blares over the streets. After you get over your initial surprise, join in! You won’t regret it. The party street of Soi Bangla in Patong becomes particularly crazy during this festival and the water– and beer–throwing continues late into the night.
