Things to do:
Rock of Ifach National Park. Symbol of the Costa Blanca, a massive limestone outcrop rising out of the sea, some 50,000 m2, 332 m high and a kilometre long. It is joined to the mainland by a narrow isthmus and is the result of a rockslide from the nearby sierra de Oltá and is now one of the most beautiful and unique geographical “accidents” not only in the Valencia region but along the whole Mediterranean coast. It is a meeting point for rock climbers and divers from all over the world who want to face nature’s challenge of sheer walls and dizzy depths.

Enginent Park. Recreational park of Enginent, opened in September, 1998, located a kilometre from the town, in the residential estate of the same name. This 4,700 m2 ecological park has planted many native species of plants but also respected the already existing trees and bushes. There are sports and recreational facilities, children’s play area, barbeque area, drinking fountain, tables and chairs and toilets.

Oltá Campsite. Located on the northeast flanks of the sierra del Oltá, this 5,000 m2 campsite provides space for up to 100 tents. Facilities include a traditional rural house, with grills, sinks, toilets and drinking water from a cistern. There are many different hiking routes in the surrounding area.

Vallesa Park. Recreational area some 10,000 m2. Located in the La Merced residential estate, near the church of the same name. The well signposted area is an ecologically valuable park with native trees and vegetation.

Salt flats. Las Salinas de Calpe occupy a depression filled by Quaternary alluvial deposits. They are a type of lake generated from the development of a dual restinga. The position of the Rock of Ifach is a decisive factor in the formation of this interesting wetland. In the restinga area of the bay of Calpe is the fish farm of the Queen’s Baths. There is little left of the first level due to the exploitation of the salt since the Roman era. The vegetation of this ecosystem is adapted to withstand high salt concentrations in the soil and water. The main feature of these halophytic species that occupy a large part of the surrounding areas is the formation of fat-containing leaves whose water contain a high concentration of salt to absorb water from the soil. The wildlife of the salt flats is composed mainly by migratory birds, which use this area as a resting place and for feeding during their migration periods. The salt flats are clearly important as a wetland in a region where there are often summer droughts.

Calalga Cove. Located at the end of the Levante beach. This pebble beach is 100 metres long.

Racó del Corv Cove. Only accessible from the sea, located to the south of the coast of Calpe. This sandy and pebble beach is ideal for scuba diving and fishing. It is 100 metres long.

Puerto Blanco Beach. This sandy and pebble beach is 100 metres long.

Levante or La Fosa Beach. Located to the north of Peñón de Ifach, fine sandy beach 2,000 metres long.

Arenal-Bol Beach. Located in the residential area of Calpe, fine sandy beach and 2,000 metres long.

Gasparet Cove. Located to the south of Toix, accessible only by the sea. This pebble beach is ideal for scuba diving and fishing. It is 100 metres long.

Les Urques Cove. Located to the south of the coast of Calpe, near the Puerto Blanco marina. This pebble beach is ideal for scuba diving and fishing. It is 200 metres long.

La Manzanera Cove. This pebble beach is 200 metres long.

Cantal Roig Beach. This fine sandy beach is next to the port and the Peñón de Ifach. It is 200 metres long.

Racó Cove. Located behind the Peñón de Ifach with access from the fishing port. It is a pebble beach and is ideal for scuba diving and fishing. It is 150 metres long.

Peñón Cove. This beach is accessible from a narrow path in the northern part of Peñón de Ifach. It is a rocky platform, ideal for scuba diving and fishing. It is 100 metres long.

Mallorquín Cove. Located in the north of the coast of Calpe, near Les Basetes marina. It is a rocky platform, ideal for scuba diving and fishing. It is 100 metres long

Les Basetes Cove. Located in the marina of the same name. It is a pebble beach and ideal for scuba diving and fishing. It is 100 metres long.
