Ramada Dover

At certain times of the year, the Grand Shaft and the Drop Redoubt are open to the public, a must if you ever get the chance to visit them, but do visit the Western Heights anyway, you can stroll around this historic area, enjoying some wonderful views over the Cruise Terminals and their magnificent floating Hotels moored there, the Hoverport and of course views across to France.

On the other side of the Valley, is Langdon Cliffs ? the White Cliffs of Dover; here the National Trust, who own the coastline, have built a visitor centre where you can learn all about the flora and fauna, including a very rare type of orchid only grown on these cliffs; you can also enjoy a drink or a meal at the Visitor Centre. The views from Langdon Cliffs are over the Ferry Port and across to france.

If you enjoy walking, the cliff-top walks are ideal, the area is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a walk along the cliff-top to St. Margaret?s Bay, will reward you with some beautiful views and stunning scenery. At the Bay in St. Margaret?s, you can take lunch at the CoastGuard pub and later stroll a short way up the hill to visit the Pines Garden and Museum, home of a Noel Coward Museum, relaxing gardens and a rather grand bronze statue of Sir Winston Spencer Churchill.
