A charming medieval town dating back to the early 12th century, Stralsund has been honoured with UNESCO world heritage status. The town is graced with beautiful gothic churches and impressive manors which reflect its grand past as a powerful seafaring member of the Hanseatic League. Sights in Stralsund not to miss include the Nicolai Church housing ancient art treasures and the Church of St. Mary, boasting the best views over the city and coastline from its 104 metre high tower. Stralsund's harbour front is another popular draw with the biggest new built museum of Northern Germany, its buzzing restaurants, bars and historic brick warehouses.
A range of fun aquatic kid's activities are on hand with the HanseDom Recreation and Leisure Park just steps from the hotel. The Oceanographic Museum is also a must as it's the largest natural science museum in Northern Germany and is housed in a beautiful 13th century gothic monastery.
