Paradise Bay Eco Escape owns and operates its own 34 foot sailing catamaran (the "Wilderness Explorer") with an experienced local skipper and guide. Every day is a new adventure exploring the dozens of islands, coral gardens and deserted beaches surrounding Paradise Bay. Help the skipper with the sails or just lay back and watch paradise go by. The catamaran departs every day (except Sunday) at about 10am returning at about 4pm. There are dozens of deserted beaches and coral gardens within two hours' sail of Paradise Bay. The "Wilderness Explorer" sails daily to locations rarely visited by other people.

OPTIONAL HELICOPTER TOUR TO THE OUTER REEF OR WHITEHAVEN BEACH

On one of the days at the resort, a helicopter can pick guests up (minimum two persons required) for a morning of adventure, visiting one of the world's most beautiful natural phenomena - the outer Great Barrier Reef. The helicopter flies to a fully equipped pontoon on the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef, where guests can snorkel the largest and most pristine coral reef in the world. An optional scuba dive is also available for certified divers.

THE OPTIONAL HALF DAY HELICOPTER TOUR to the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef is available from Paradise Bay at AUD$698 per person. This tour is exclusively offered for Paradise Bay guests, who are flown to a large fully equipped pontoon on the outer reef before the boat loads of tourists arrive. It's a very exclusive experience and not available to the general public. Guests can spend an hour and a half snorkelling the spectacular coral and fish surrounding the pontoon. The flight to the pontoon takes about 40 minutes and provides a scenic tour of the islands and parts of the Great Barrier Reef. If you are thinking of doing this tour, it must be pre-booked to be sure there is a place rather than waiting until your arrival before booking, in which case we cannot guarantee a place. If you later decide not to do the tour, and give at least 24 hours notice, there is a full refund. The tours to the outer reef require a minimum of two people.

An optional guided scuba dive is also available on the pontoon for certified divers at AUD$80 per dive including all equipment and a dive master. We need to be notified at the time of booking if you wish to do a scuba dive but payment is made direct to the operator at the pontoon on the day.

WHITEHAVEN BEACH
Guests can also fly to Whitehaven Beach and spend 1? hours on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. On the way guests can take in the breathtaking aerial view of the surrounding Whitsunday Islands and fringing reefs. Whilst at Whitehaven soak up the sun and relax with chilled champagne and picnic lunch. This tour provides the perfect opportunity for fantastic photos and video footage not to be forgotten. Perfect trip to celebrate a special occasion.
