Onetangi beach is popular for ocean enthusiasts in particular; swimming, sea kayaking, fishing, surfing, sailing, water skiing. For those who prefer land based activities the forest and bird reserve is home to an abundance of native bird and plant species and is great for walking.
The local brewery and activity centre 'Wild on Waiheke' is just a 2 minute drive or a pleasant 30 minute stroll.
There is also a 9 hole golf course next to the Waiheke Island Historic Village. However, it is not to be forgotten that Waiheke is about relaxing whether you achieve it through wining, dining, or action sport is over to you.
The unique micro climate of Waiheke has led to the birth of an internationally acclaimed wine culture. The heart of this culture can be found in Onetangi. Within a few of km's you will find Stonyridge, Miro, Obsidian, Onetangi Road, and Passage Rock. Ask at reception for information on wine tours.
