Broome is famous for its beautiful beaches of white sands and blue waters. Situated on a peninsula you are surrounded by water, almost to the extent you could think you're on an island! Broome is considered a laid back town and most people slip easily into the slower pace of this Kimberley township. It has a small but growing population of 15,000 residents and whilst it offers a lovely outback town experience it is complimented by sophisticated dining experiences, quality accommodation and award winning tours and attractions.

Broome can be split into two distinct areas - 'town' is known as Chinatown and is located on the Roebuck Bay side of the Peninsula. Most of the shops are located here including essential services such as post office, banks, medical facilities and churches. Moonlight Bay Suites offers the only self-contained accommodation right at the water's edge, overlooking the bay. On the other side of the peninsula is Cable Beach, about 7kms away. Here is the majority of accommodation resorts, but only limited shopping facilities. You will find attractions such as the Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park and Cable Beach Camel Rides in this area.
In and around the town itself, there are many things to see and do to that will make your Broome holiday or tour of Western Australia (WA) a memorable experience;

Walk through the famous Courthouse Markets on Saturday mornings and see the amazing collection of local arts and crafts
View local contemporary and Indigenous artists in the art galleries
Check out the latest movie showings at Sun Pictures which is the oldest operating outdoor picture gardens in the world
Enjoy the sun, sea and some great children's facilities at Town Beach
Wander through Chinatown and discover the heritage of the area
Visit Pearl Luggers in Dampier Terrace and discover why pearling is such an important part of Broome's history
Visit beautiful pearling showrooms to shop for your own Broome Pearl
Visit the Broome Visitor Centre to discover the huge arrange of activities you can experience in and around the region
Of course you'll also want to ...

Relax on beautiful Cable Beach. An excellent public transport service operates regularly between town and Cable Beach
Venture out to the Broome Bird Observatory on the shores of Roebuck Bay, home to 310 species of migratory birds.
Visit the 130 million year old dinosaur footprints at Gantheaume Point.

Take a step back in time with a visit to the Heritage Centre's Relationship Exhibition-a social history of the Kimberley.

Join a fishing tour, charter a boat or try your luck from the jetty.
Play a round on Broome Golf Club's fully grassed 18-hole course and take in the awesome view from the Clubhouse.
Enjoy bushwalking at Minyirr Park - and much much more!
