Examples such as the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge have a way of charming you unexpectedly. For something more energetic there this is the ideal place for walking, cycling and the great outdoors in general. Also this is a centre of excellence, and an area with first class cricket and scattering of friendly, unpretentious golf clubs.
