Lárisa is now a major commercial and industrial centre. The medieval fortress, Alcazar Park, the ancient Theater, the archeological museum and the art gallery are a must.
The Pinios River flowing through the town and the old mansions with their spacious courtyards and luxuriant gardens give Larisa all the charm.
Other places top be seen in the area are the emerald valley of Agia, idyllic Stomio with its bottomless springs and Ayiokambos and its enormous beach. The latter two localities are ideal summer holiday spots.
