Surfing
There are a variety of reef breaks accessible from Maqai offering uncrowded waves!
At 800 meters from the beach there is a great right and left hand reef set up. The right hander is the most commonly surfed and provides punchy fun waves. And when the swell gets bigger the left hander comes into its own providing heavy fiji barrels.
A 10 minute boat ride across the Taveuni straight from Maqai offers more reef breaks amongst which is the right hander "purple wall".
Maqai resort offers boats to access these reefs everyday.

Diving
Dive the spectacular reefs of Qamea and Taveuni with our local friends - Jewel Bubble Divers. Dive courses and trips are taken at Maqai Beach. Advance booking available.

Fishing
Professional charter trips available. Advance booking advised. Guests can also go fishing and crabbing with the village fishermen/women. Trawl, spear, or drop line.

Snorkelling
Everyone is blown away buy our snorkelling! Snorkel straight off the beach or take a boat to some of our secret spots on the outer reef.

Hiking
Qamea Island is covered with breathtaking rainforest and white sand beaches. There are no roads so the locals have made many rough tracks to connect their villages.

Adventure Trips
Boats are available for trips to remote paradise islands, villages, waterfalls and a natural water slide! All the wonderful eco-attractions of Taveuni Island are on offer too.

Water Sports
Kayak, scurf, skimboard, wake board, and swim off the beach or watch the action from your front deck.

Island Sport
The locals love sports. Join in the games of rugby, volleyball, table tennis, frisbee, water fights etc.
