In the 2012 North Queensland Tourism Awards , Lees received the Finalist Award for "Unique Accommodation",something to be proud of when you consider the number of motels in North Queensland. The Motel accommodation Is built over the site of the "Day Dawn Hotel' made famous by Slim Dusty . The entire Motel has been extensively refurbished throughout 2011/2012. Some interesting guests and visitors over the years include the Governor of Queensland in 2007.

Lees Motel is a tourist destination in itself, however ,Tyto Wetlands is just a short walk where you will find a 3.5km of laid out walking track meandering through the wetlands. Head west for a one hour drive that will take you to Wallaman Falls and view its sheer drop of water over 300m.The longest drop in the southern hemisphere. It's just 20 minutes to your choice of beaches and fishing locations, the Lucinda Jetty that disappears out to sea over 5.5km. Hinchinbrook Island national parks, Broadwater State Forest, Hinchinbrook Heritage walk and for the more adventurous there is one of the world's most renowned wilderness walks, the Thorsborne Trail. Or just take it easy with a late lunch, and perhaps a game of pool and watch the latest sporting events in the comfort of the lounge or sports bar.

Really sorry about the carpet, damaged by previous guest and being NQ it took two weeks to get two quotes and now we are just waiting for the carpet layer to turn up.

In March we received an Australian Good Food Guide Readers Award For our Accommodation, we recently completed a $1.2 million refurb , we are $8-$10 less than any competition , price included 2 hot breakfast, free Wi-Fi, free washer and dryer, ironing facilities, hairdryer, tea and coffee in your room and free lock-up car parking on request. we are really sorry that you did not contact our 24/7 helpline , we would have done whatever we could to help.

Thank you for your comment, the price may be average, however we are always $8-$10 a room less than any competition and our price included a hot breakfast for two, plus free Wi-Fi, free clothes washer and dryer, free ironing facilities and steam iron in every room, free hairdryer, free tea and coffee in your room and complimentary lock-up car parking on request.
