Lake Argyle is the largest man made lake in Australia, and is perfect for boating and is a great place to see native animals and birdlife. Created by the Ord River Dam, Lake Argyle is 22 times the size of Sydney Harbour; in fact its size is so vast that it is classified as an inland sea! Back on dry land the Bungle Bungle Range of the Purnululu National Park are a must see during your stay in our Kununurra accommodation. They are renowned for their orange and black striped sandstone domes, and the area has been a National Park since 1987 and in 2003 was listed as a World Heritage site. Kununurra has come to recent fame as it was one of the locations used during the filming of Baz Luhrmann latest epic, “Australia”.
