Jabiru Safari Lodge
The pace of life at Jabiru Safari Lodge is dictated by nature. From early morning wildlife safaris to sunset cheese and wine, hikes along the kilometres of tracks through the Reserve, wildlife spotlighting, stargazing in the spectacularly clear tropical nights, or paddling hand-crafted timber canoes - this is rush hour outback style!

Guiding and Touring
Whether exploring by foot, electric boat, canoe or vehicle, Jabiru Safari Lodge allows guests to fully experience the wildlife and Tropical Savanna environment. Safaris take guests by vehicle deep into the heart of the Reserve to explore lagoons, usually teeming with birdlife, with an expert local guide.

For a more personalised experience, allow our guide to spend some quality time with you, locating many of the rare and elusive bird and animal species. Alternatively, strike off on you own to explore at your own pace the 12km of marked walking trails.

The quiet electric motors of our eco-cruise allow you to get up close and personal to the many waterbird species on Clancy’s Lagoon. Alternatively, canoe at your own pace around the tranquil Lagoon.

Private Guiding
The services of our expert guide are available to assist you in fully appreciating the delights of the Reserve. A Private guiding experience will allow you to find the elusive bird and animal species and learn about the savanna and wetland environments under the watchful eye of our seasoned professional guide. $95 per person.



Sunset Safari
Enjoy the afternoon cruise on Clancy's Lagoon then travel into the heart of the 2000 hectare reserve for wildlife viewing, bird watching and some billy tea. Enjoy wine and cheese while the sunsets over the picturesque lagoon.
Cost: $68 Adult, $34 Child
Daily departures 3.30pm

Nature Eco Cruise
A relaxed 45 minute nature-focussed guided eco-cruise on Clancy's Lagoon.
Cost: $15 Adult $ 7.50 child
Cruises daily: 11.30am, 1.30pm & 3.30pm

Canoeing
Take a leisurely paddle around Clancy's Lagoon at your own pace in a locally- made handcrafted wooden canoe.

Early Morning Wildlife Safari
Enjoy the early morning delights of the Mareeba Wetlands with a morning guided tour. Departs at 7:00am. Drive through the reserve spotting up to 30 different bird species along the way to Pandanus Lagoon. Finishes 10:00am.
Cost: $68 pp
Departs Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday

Self Guided walks
With over 12km of marked walking trails, you can explore the reserve's numerous self-guided walks at your leisure. Interpretive information is available on 4 separate walks.


With kangaroos, wallabies and quolls and over 200 species of birds on offer, the Outback Experience is a nature-lover's delight.

Other nearby attractions include the Australian Coffee Centre, the Atherton Tablelands, the Kuranda Rainforest, Lake Tinaroo and the beautiful Cairns Highlands.
