Isis Motel is situated on the southern approaches of Scone in the Upper Hunter Valley, on the right side of New England Highway, 300 metres away from the Sign "Scone - Horse Capital" from Sydney direction. It is a popular and convenient stopover to break up your trip between Sydney and Brisbane while you can still enjoy Barrington Tops, Burning Mountain National Park, wineries and many other local attractions. Guests often comment that the motel is the quietest in Scone as it sits far back from the highway, with the railway line located even further back.

? Burning Mountain National Park is 20 minutes driving from the motel and it is an unique underground burning coal seam, said to be burning for over 5,500 years. It provides pleasant bushwalking trail.
? Barrington Tops National Parking is 40 minutes away, a beautiful place for camping, bushwalking, birds watching, bike riding and fishing.
? Lake Glenbawn State Park, 15km from the motel, offers great facilities for a variety of sports and leisure activities. It is the largest waterways in Upper Hunter region, also the best inland fishing spot in NSW .
? Scone boasts two Melbourne Cup winners in Subzero and Shocking, both bred in the district; explore our rich fertile valley, home of thoroughbred horse breeding in Australia with so many magnificent horse stud properties surrounded such as Arrowfield, Segenhoe, Emirates Park, The Vinery, Yarraman Park, Darley and many more. Tours to studs can be arranged with Scone Visitor Information centre.
? Stud open days are held during the Scone and Upper Hunter Horse Festival weeks in May with a popular street parade, a rodeo, stock sales, an air show, racing meeting and fireworks.
? Located on Middlebrook Road there is a Washpools in Towarri National Park. It has tranquil picnic areas and campsites among trees and bushes.
? Elizabeth Park situated on the New England Highway at the northern end of Kelly Street, has Gabriel Sterk?s sculpture of the Mare and Foal. It is a very relaxed, attractive and leafy entertainment area.
? Old Gold mining areas of Stewarts Brook and Moonan Brook are interesting to explore. Both sites are signposted off the Gundy Road.
? Pay?s Flying Museum located at Scone Airport. It is the largest collection of actual flying Warbirds and the only Spitfire in Australia. Inspection can be booked with Scone Visitor Information centre.
