Hotels in Bangalore
Bangalore is regarded as a city of two passions—cricket and information technology—but it is so much more. Also known as the Garden City it is famed for its green spaces, it also has a fascinating colonial history and is a great base to begin exploring the wider region of Karnataka. We offer hotels in Bangalore to suit your holiday perfectly whether you're planning on passing through or spending a bit longer in the city.
As the former colonial capital of South India, Bangalore has some great examples of architecture of the period but one of the best buildings to visit is Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace. Over 200 years old and made mostly with teak, this palace was designed in a classic Mughal style and is one of the highlights of the city. Bangalore enjoys a relatively cool climate which never peaks too high even in the summer and this means its public gardens are ideal to walk around. Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens spread over 240 acres of land and is by far the most popular green space in the city. The yearly flower show is a colourful spectacle hosted under the famous glass house of the gardens. During the rest of the year there is plenty of flora and fauna to admire and walking around is a nice way to spend an afternoon from one of our Bangalore hotels.
Like anywhere in India, Bangalore is cricket mad and it is played anywhere a flat piece of land can be found but the home of cricket in the city is Chinnaswamy Stadium. Matches are frequently played here and making the time to get involved is essential for a true cultural experience. From our resorts in Bangalore, exploring further out of the city to places such as the UNESCO site at Hampi or the sandalwood producing Mysore region is highly recommended.
