TROPEA
Tropea is the emblem of tourism in Calabria; the town is well established on the international tourism circuit.
The principal attraction for tourists to Tropea is the sea with its coastline alternating between captivating expanses of sand and evocative cliffs.
It is one of the most beautiful coastlines in the region.
Tropea is situated on a block perpendicular to the coast, at a height of approximately 60 m.
The ancient center of Tropea is one of the most interesting.
Intersecting alleys enable visitors to discover picturesque corners with ancient buildings and portals. The cathedral, the town's most important monument, keep works of art like the icon of Byzantine inspiration of the Blessed Virgin Our Lady of Romania, patron saint of Tropea.
The church of S. Maria dell' Isola is very interesting too.
It is situated above the island, easily visible from the terraces of the historic center facing the sea.
CAPO VATICANO
Capo Vaticano can be considered a naturalistic oasis.
There are numerous beaches visible from this promontory and stretches of sand.
A number of sandy stretches can only be reached by sea, set in small bays and surrounded by the wildest nature.
PIZZO
Pizzo is a small characteristic town of about 9000 inhabitants.
It is situated in the gulf of Saint Eufamia, on a small headland overlooking the Mediterranean sea. The town is associated with Napoleonic history, because Napoleon's brother-in-law, Gioacchino Murat was imprisoned and executed into the Aragonese Castle of the small town. Also worth a visit are the church of Saint George the Martyr and the church of Piedigrotta situated on the beach.
