Florence being the cradle of the Renaissance, it offers its visitors a myriad of Museums and Galleries, amongst these the Gallery of the Academy (David), the Uffizi Gallery, The Bargello, The Boboli Gardens, Palazzo Pitti, Ponte Vecchio, The Duomo, Santa Croce, Santa Maria Novella etc.
Florence has a special music festival, from the end of April to the end of June (Maggio Musicale Fiorentino), The Medieval Soccer games in June, the Explosion of the Cart on Easter Sunday. Fashion fairs in January and June.
For those who are not keen Museum visitors, shopping is wonderful, reaching the Chianti area and other towns is easy.
