Heimat is situated 7 km from New Norfolk for shopping, bowls, or visit the local golf club,take an historic tour. Drive 15 minutes to the Salmon Ponds, Tasmania's oldest fish hatchery, 30 minutes to Mount Field National Park and Russell Falls. 40 mins. to Hobart, Mt Wellington, Salamanca Market, 5 minutes to take a ride on the Devil Jet on the Derwent River. 5 minutes to the historic Toll House for wonderful souvenirs and locally made produce and wines. Many guests just stay at Heimat, relax, use the playground, go trout fishing in the stocked ponds, take a bush walk, or test their skills on the golf driving range.
