Brandenburger Tor (Brandenburg Gate)
This triumphal arch -- now restored -- stands in the very heart of Berlin and once was the symbol of the divided city. In the heyday of East Germany, the structure was integrated into the Berlin Wall, after the fall of the Berlin Wall the Brandenburg Gate was re-opened on December 22, 1989.


Reichstag (Parliament)
The Reichstag, built in the years of 1884-94 by Paul Wallot, is the seat of the German Parliament and with its new glass dome is one of the most popular attractions of Berlin. Its history reflects the turbulences of German history since the 19th century.


In 1994-99 the Reichstag was redesigned by the architect Sir Norman Forster as a modern house of parliament with an accessible dome.

Holocaust memorial
This monument for the murdered Jews in Europe located in the city center and in direct proximity to the Brandenburg gate and Reichstag is the central place of the memory. On a surface of approximately 19.000 m² renowned New York architect Peter Eisenman built 2,711 differently high pillars in a grid pattern. One can dive from all four sides into the completely accessible structure, whose wavy shape is noticed differently from every side. The monument is supplemented by an underground place of information.

Potsdamer Platz
Potsdamer Platz provides a casino, theatre, IMAX, multiplex cinema, night clubs, Philharmonic Hall and shopping arcades.
