Glenville House are delighted to recommend visitor attractions, and are sure a visit to any one of them will make your stay more enjoyable. For the more adventurous and athletic information can be provided on both guided or unguided walks once guests arrive.
Windermere is the central location for tourism in the Lake District and Glenville House is ideally situated a couple of minutes walk from the main village, with its excellent shops, fine restaurants and bistros. From the doorstep there are many walks without the need to use a car. An easy walk down into Bowness and there is the home to the world of Beatrix Potter. Walk throughout Bowness to the lakeshore where you will find the pier that takes the lake cruises from Bowness to Ambleside, or Lakeside where you can enjoy the Aquarium of the lake or journey a little further on one of the steam trains on the Haverthwaite and lakeside railway. There are many things to do to suit all tastes within easy reach either by car or on one of the many trips organised in the area guests are truly spoilt for choice.
