Located in the breathtakingly scenic Mae Rim Valley – just 20 minutes north of Chiang Mai City – Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai provides a tranquil self-contained retreat. With a backdrop of majestic mountains, the Resort is nestled in 8 hectares (20 acres) of tropical gardens, with two small lakes, lily ponds and a terraced working rice farm – complete with a family of water buffalo. Sainamphung Orchid Farm:
• Endless rows of exotic varieties of orchids and a butterfly farm to explore. Lovers of Siamese cats will adore the many species to be found here.

Mae Sa Valley Craft Village:

Learn parasol and fan painting, batik dyeing or "Sa" paper making, and take home a unique self-made souvenir.
Wat Chiang Man:
• Take a stroll through history in this 700-year-old temple, the oldest in Chiang Mai. Guided tours are led by monks.
Wat Phra Singh:
• One of the city's most important religious landmarks, renowned for its "Lanna"-style
murals. Inside is the sacred Phra Sihing Buddha.
Wat Pa Bong:
• A renowned meditation centre for inner healing.
Wat Suan Dok:
• The large compound was once a fortified monastery. Built in 1371, its main features are a huge bell-shaped chedi and cenotaph memorials of the royal family of Chiang Mai.
Wat Umong:
• Savour the timeless rituals of Buddhism in this ancient temple. Learn the art of meditation in fascinating underground cells featuring traces of the oldest surviving paintings in early "Lanna" style. Built in a grove of trees, the temple's surroundings are serene and its origins can be traced back to the 14th century. The temple is popular with Western Buddhist practitioners, and some of the monks give sermons in English.
Warorot and Ton Lamyai Market:
• The oldest and biggest market in Chiang Mai city, selling fresh and dry foods, clothing
and a variety of other products, from textiles to basketware, at local prices. You willalso see an abundance of flowers.
Sankamphaeng Road:
• Known as the "Handicraft Highway," on Sankamphaeng Road you'll find everything from silk, silver, celadon, gems, antiquest, "Sa" paper, umbrella painting, lacquerware and pottery, to handmade furniture. Watch local craftsmen deftly weave silk, carve wood or transform clay into beautiful celadon pottery.
