The Foreshore Motorlodge is situated in the ideal location to access Wellington City along with the magnificent Hutt Valley.
Locally:
Petone Beach - directly opposite great for swimming or walking along the well developed pathway or taking a stroll along the wharf.
Jackson Street - has a amazing mix of cafes, restaurants, and shops.
Visit the unique Te Puna Ora artesian water fountain.
Take a drive or ferry to Eastbourne/Days Bay and enjoy the shops and beautiful harbour views.
Enjoy a round of golf at one of the many courses, Shandon Golf course is at the end of Jackson Street.
Visit Petone Settlers Museum - a history of the development of the local area. Including interesting recollections of migration and settlement.
For the serious shopper Jackson Street and Westgate Mall in Lower Hutt will entice.
For the active visitor there are numerous tracks to walk,run and bike, Petone recreation ground, bowling, action indoor sports, Hangdog indoor climbing centre.
A ferry ride on the harbour and a stop off at Somes island will be an adventure.
WELLINGTON CITY:
The waterfront has many facilities including Westpac stadium,cafes and restaurants, Te Papa museum, The Museum of Wellington City and Sea. These are well connected with a walkway that allows beautiful views of the harbour and city.
A little further away are the Parliament buildings, the Beehive and the cable car up to the botanic gardens.
The Zoo and Weta cave are worth considering.
