Echoland Bed & Breakfast

Bali is a relatively small island, it takes only 3 hours or so to travel from tip to toe and you will find Echoland the perfect hotel to make your base, to branch out from and explore this tropical island with its many different points of interest. The hotel is situated literally a three minutes stroll from the famous surfing Echo Beach. As you walk there you will pass cows meandering towards you and feel the frogs? croaking as it resonates from the adjacent paddy fields. Right on the sea front you will find seven restaurants, all with quality and different cuisines but all share a very special Balinese atmosphere. Our guest often do not venture too far from this immediate area for their evening meals, it?s difficult to beat!

As for activities, you will be spoiled for choice, on the series of beaches just below us you can find surfing, including lessons for beginners, horse riding and para-sailing. For snorkeling and diving, the east and north east of Bali provide the best spots. The best Bali diving sites (some with ship wrecks) are along Bali's East cost near Candi Dasa, Amed and Tulamben and near Nusa Penida and Menjangan Island. You can see manta, shark, beautiful coral garden, colorful tropical fish. Please don?t be put off if you have never tried, we have an extremely experienced dive master in house, who can provide thorough training for the beginner, which could well cost less than you think, but will give you a priceless experience!

For site seeing there are many temples, paddy fields and volcanoes to visit, probably best to hire a tour guide and car to take you so that you do not miss out. Again the immediate location is rich with Tanah Lot, an ancient temple built in the 16th century on a huge rock 100 yards off Bali's West coast and is surrounded by the sea during high tides. Spectacular sight and only ten minutes away.

The day tour would take you through Ubud, is a fast growing town with numerous art galleries and shops offering paintings, wood carvings, textiles, and all kinds of souvenirs. The various Balinese dance in Ubud and in nearby villages are worth spending the early evening there.

And then up to a volcano towering above picturesque lakes in the north of the island. A scenic drive over small roads overlooking beautiful rice terraces brings you to the mountain village of Kintamani (about 5,000 feet above the sea) which offers spectacular views of Lake Batur and the volcano. You can cross the crater lake below the still active Mount Batur and visit the "Bali Aga" village of Trunyan. Return through traditional villages with stops in Tampaksiring to visit the temple of Tirta Empul, and to visit the Elephant Cave "Goa Gajah", a hermitage from the 11th century used by both Buddhists and Hindus.

So as you see, you will not be bored!! All these activities can be arranged from the hotel when you are here and there is no need to worry, just bring the sun cream!
