Yungaburra has some lovely craft outlets as well as award winning restaurants and the general store for all other essentials. It is a great base to explore the natural wonders of the area - the Crater Lakes are minutes away by car with waterfalls scattered around the Tablelands area. Ballooning at dawn is an experience not to be missed. Local wildlife experts are available to give personal guided tours and find those elusive birds and animals. Platypus abound in the area and can be spotted regularly in the local creek just 2 minutes walk away. Just wander down early morning or late afternoon. There are story boards along the walk to give you a feel of the village 100 years ago.
The Tablelands is a good base to explore further afield. The Skyrail and Kuranda train are only 45 minutes away. Undara Lava Tubes are 2 hours by car.
