***Please be advised Hellyers Restaurant will be closing for the month of August, effective from 3rd August and will re-open on Tuesday 2nd September. Our breakfast hampers will still be available for you to pre-order. All of our cottages and chalets are fully self-contained, with dual stove top, microwave oven and fridge. We recommend groceries supplies be obtained on the way to Cradle Mountain, as only basic supplies can be purchased at the Campground next door. There are several other dining options in the area, please ask at reception for recommendations.

Having established your base at Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village you are within easy access of many activities within the region including a choice of wild river cruises, mine and cave tours, lavender farms, mazes, gardens, wineries and cheese, honey and raspbery producers as well as a wildlife Park where you will come face to face with a Tasmanian devil.

Other activities include horse riding, canoeing, mountain biking, night wildlife tours, four wheel driving, fishing or simply relaxing.

  • Warm greeting at reception really made a lovely impact as we had had a delayed flight and long day travelling there.

  • It was affordable and clean. We had paddymelon wallabies greeting us at our door in the morning! Lovely!
  • Restaurant was closed and there was no way to walk to other restaurants, had to drive and not have that second glass of wine!
  • There were a few broken appliances, but the place was very clean and cosy

  • private location, wilderness, lovely warm cabin, wildlife on the door step.
  • Nothing much to say, other then the stove was too small too cook breakfast on and the shower had lost pressure so wasnt very enjoyable.
  • great park, close to everything. Front of house staff were so helpful and nice. Even let us have late check out.
