LAKE Macquarie (Awaba) is a large sea water coastal lagoon 1 ? hours drive north of central Sydney via the F3. Dora Creek (Doree Doree) is a small village on the western shores. The nice thing is that few know about LAKE Macquarie (or Dora Creek) which makes it such a good destination for a quiet time away for just the two of you.

Lake Macquarie (Awaba) is the largest seawater coastal lake in Australia being four times larger than Sydney Harbour and somewhat less crowded. The lake has extensive waterfront reserves, beautiful sailing conditions, secluded bays, great fishing...

Dora Creek (Doree Doree) rises in the forested Watagan Mountains and is the largest river flowing into the lake.

Doree Doree started as the main port on the western side of the lake. The name changed several times and from 1887 was named Dora Creek after the railway station. Fishing, subsistence farming, and timber were the main activities. Commercial fishing in the lake ceased in 2003.

Christina's B&B is ideal for intimate short breaks for adult couples. Therefore in the interests of maintaining this ambience, we do not cater for additional adults in room, or children or pets (except guide dogs). There is alternative accommodation nearby that may better suit.

Non-smoking property - OK on jetty

Damage or excessive soiling will be charged to your credit card or cash deposit.
