Kaminari-mon (2 min. walk from Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, Asakusa Station)
The most famous symbol of Asakusa, Kaminari-mon, or Thunder Gate, is the main outer gate of Sensouji Temple. It is also where the bustling Nakamise Shopping Arcade, which leads up to the temple, begins.
Yakatabune (5 min. walk from Toei Oedo Line, Kuramae Station)
Yakatabune refers to a traditional Japanese roofed pleasure boat, and an evening of merrymaking on the boat has been popular among the denizens of Tokyo as a stylish form of entertainment since the Edo Period.
