Craigdarroch Castle is an 1890's mansion with exquisite stained-glass windows, woodwork and period antiques, built by coal baron, Robert Dunsmuir. Be sure to check out Fort Rodd Hill, Canada's oldest West Coast lighthouse and still working today.

Complimentary historic tours are available at the British Columbia Legislative Buildings, which were built in 1897 and are the centre of provincial politics. Enjoy high tea at the Fairmont Empress Hotel, which rises regally on the banks of Victoria’s Inner Harbour. The hotel was opened in 1908, before undergoing a $45 million dollar restoration completed in 1989.

Victoria, also known as the Garden City, boasts the mildest climate in Canada. Every February, to celebrate the start of spring, the city undergoes a flower count, in 2005 4.77 billion flowers were counted.
