Neemrana, named after a gallant local chieftain Nimola Leo, is located on the Delhi-Jaipur highway in Rajasthan. Situated in the Alwar district of Rajasthan, the town has captured the imagination of the travellers, thanks to its rugged backdrop. Legend has it that when Nimola Leo suffered defeat at the hands of the Chauhans, he put in humble plea to have his lost kingdom named after him. And as we witness today, the wish was granted.
Today, Neemrana is visited by scores of business and leisure travellers. The most popular tourist attraction in the town ostentatiously is Neemrana Fort. This fort is an architectural marvel of Rajasthan and is also one of the oldest too. Nestled on a high hillock, one could have bird?s eye view of the most magnificent places from here.
Kesroli, a town adjacent to Neemrana, is counted amongst the best places to explore the grandeur and natural beauty of Rajasthan. Not surprisingly, the town also find its mention in Hindu mythology. Travellers will find some old relics of a Buddhist Vihara where the Pandavas are said to have spent the last year of their exile. All said and done, it?s the reclining statue of Hanuman that is sure to be the cynosure of all eyes. Also, don?t miss out on the memorial of the ruler saint Bhartrihari and Talavriksha attached to very old water reservoirs.
