The Adelaide Botanic Gardens is a haven in the heart of the city and is the most visited cultural attraction in South Australia. The Adelaide Central Gallery holds 10 exhibitions a year highlighting the best contemporary artists from South Australia and interstate. Adelaide Zoo is located in shady parklands just a few minutes' walk from Adelaide's city centre and is one of Australia's most historic and interesting zoos. Offering much more than a traditional children's outing, Adelaide Zoo is fascinating, beautiful and full of interest. The zoo is the place for everybody to learn about the world's rare and endangered mammals, birds, reptiles and fish, and to take a closer look at some of Australia's own native animals. The zoo is beautifully landscaped with habitat exhibits, walk-through aviaries full of trees, and a superb reptile house. Most animals are exhibited in natural settings, which can magically transport the visitor from a Queensland rainforest to a northern swamp and a moment later to a South East Asian rainforest. The experience is unforgettable.

Grote Street comprises 36 of Adelaide's leading antique and collectable dealers in a 10,000 square foot showroom. Incorporated in the market are the Adelaide Vintage Toy and Collectables. A display of vintage toys, particularly from the 1950s and 1960s, including an important display of vintage Australian made toys.

South Australia's state collection of Australian and International works of art, The Art Gallery of South Australia, holds one of Australia's finest art collections in one of Adelaide's most beautiful historic buildings. It is centrally located on a leafy North Terrace between the South Australian Museum and the University of Adelaide and has been an important cultural focus since its establishment in 1881, only 45 years after the first European settlers arrived.
