Katoomba is the centre of the Blue Mountains. From our motel visit Katoomba tourist information centre, the Three Sisters at Echo Point, Scenic Railway, Skyway and the Edge cinema with giant screen. Visit nearby historic Leura village with its boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries. Drive or make a short train trip to Blackheath and its gardens and see beautiful waterfalls at Wentworth Falls. Drive to the Botanical Gardens of Mount Victoria or make a pleasant day trip to the Jenolan Caves. Enjoy antique shopping and op shops of Katoomba and relax at one of the many great cafes or restaurants in both Leura and Katoomba villages. Fantastic local events include the Blue Mountains Blues & Roots Festival in March, Winter Magic Festival in June, some wonderful garden festivals in spring and yulefest in winter. Bushwalking, rock climbing and photography are popular past-times in the Blue Mountains, inspired by the easy access to beautiful World Heritage National Park.
