An informative guided rainforest walk is included in your accommodation package. Bloomfield is situated in one of the most naturally diverse places on earth and is home to many rare and endangered plant and animal species. Our guided rainforest walks offer a fascinating insight into the secrets of the tropical rainforest.
Also included is a relaxing cruise along the Bloomfield River. Our experienced guides are mines of information about the local area and will be able to point out some of the magnificent bird life or even a crocodile or two!
Try your luck throwing a line off the jetty. Bait and tackle and a word of advice are complimentary. For the more dedicated angler we can offer optional boat fishing.
Kangaji Beach is a secluded bay an hour’s walk through the rainforest from the Lodge. It is an idyllic spot to stroll, beach comb and imagine yourself as Robinson Crusoe for a few hours. Take a gourmet picnic lunch along, the only footprints in the sand will be yours!
If you would like to explore further afield we do have a number of optional tours available. One of our most popular activities is a full day trip to the reef where we can, depending on the day out, offer snorkelling, fishing and diving.
If you are looking for an idyllic spot for a picnic, a trip to one of the local waterfalls could be the perfect answer. Otherwise we can offer you some unique history with a full day trip to the old pioneer town of Cooktown.
You may just prefer to laze around the poolside taking in the relaxed atmosphere of the Lodge and its surroundings.
