Just 150 minutes from Sydney, 65 minutes from Newcastle and nestled in the foothills of the Barrington Tops World Heritage Wilderness, there is a perfect place to escape, unwind and recharge. The Barringtons Country Retreat is situated on 300 acres, surrounded by the Barrington Tops National Park, the pristine Chichester Dam and lush green rolling hills looking down Bellbird Valley. Blended amongst the hills are 26 secluded private lodges and with six comfortable log cabins located closer to the retreat.

HORSE TRAIL RIDES
Saddle-up and enjoy a peaceful trail ride through the lush green hills and forests taking in some spectacular views and scenery along the way. All rides are escorted by experienced horse guides. We cater for beginners to advanced and have shorter rides for younger riders and hand led pony rides for children.

Long pants and heeled shoes are neccessary. Bookings are essential and can be made when making a reservation or at reception. Child minding is available, please book at reception.

SWIMMING
Relax and cool off in our swimming pool oasis surrounded by the tranquillity of the Wilderness while the kids play in the children?s play area.

TENNIS
With 2 tennis courts, you are sure to get a few games in. Don?t forget your racquets and balls.

MASSAGE
Why not totally indulge yourself with a relaxing massage on the privacy of your balcony or in the warmth by your log fire. Bookings can be made when making your reservation or at reception.

GOLF
For the avid golfers ? Dungog has a fine 9 hole golf course only 15 minutes drive from the Retreat. We also have 2 hole chip and putt just down from the Restaurant.

BUSHWALKING
Bushwalking is abundant in the Barrington Tops and surrounding areas from easy walks to the more difficult. You can take in the breathtaking mountain and valley views then suddnely find yourself in the most beautiful and serene rain forest. Cool off in a crystal clear mountain stream or under a massaging waterfall. Maps and details are available at reception.

MOUNTAIN BIKE HIRE
Exercise, relax and enjoy while you explore the Barringtons at your leisure.
-24 Speed Haro Mountain Bikes.
-Self guided maps - for easy leisure rides to the more strenuous rides. Helmets provided.
