The 4* Barcelo Brighton Old Ship Hotel itself plays an integral part of the City's history, closely linked with the Royal Escape of Charles II, accommodating guests to the Royal Pavilion throughout it's history and housing the unique and elegant assembly rooms, where many a grand occasion has been held from the Prince Regent's Ball in 1819, to Nicolo Paganini's violin recital in 1831 and the Banquet celebrating the opening of the London to Brighton Railway in 1841.

Brighton is one of the UK's liveliest cities and is renowned for its exciting, vibrant nightlife, quirky shops, cosmopolitan outlook and contemporary architecture.
There is rarely a dull moment in Brighton, from the excellent shopping possibilities to the bustling café bars and restaurants. The Lanes is a myriad of narrow streets directly behind the hotel offering a wide range of specialist shops including jewellery, designer clothes and crafts. The Brighton Marina is home to an outlet village, entertainment centre and some of the UK's finest yachts and boats.
During a break to Brighton, The Brighton Pavilion is well worth a visit. As the town's most famous landmark, the Pavilion is an architectural wonder especially when it is lit up at night.
West of Brighton is Hove, a quieter picturesque town that is a pleasant stroll along the seafront. Further afield is the Sussex countryside with historic castles and scenic villages. With good motorway and road networks into the area, access to the larger towns such as Eastbourne and Newhaven is relatively simple.
