The hotel's location between the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks makes it the perfect base from which guests can go out and explore some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK. Both national parks have caves, waterfalls, walking trails, lakes, stately homes and museums to explore. The famous Settle-Carlisle Railway line is close by which has steam trains running often. Also nearby in Ingleton is White Scar Cave, Britain's longest show cave located inside Ingleborough hill, and Ingleborough Cave in Ingleborough which is close to Clapham, a town which it's self is a place to visit as it encapsulates some the best of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. In the Lake District, Lake Windermere is only 30 mins drive from the hotel and guests can go and visit the quaint little towns of Windermere, Bowness-on-Windermere and Ambleside which is home to the Beatrix Potter Museum. The historic town of Lancaster is also a short drive away as is Morecambe Bay and Blackpool. In all guests have lots of activities to do.
