Thailand's southern paradise island is the third largest island in the Kingdom and lies in the Gulf of Siam. Koh Samui is a tropical island with a mountainous interior comprising mostly coconut palms (about 2.5 million of them), coffee and rubber plantations. There are m any interesting things to see and do. Mountain paths, waterfalls, strange rock formations abound and are ideal for some exciting four-wheel drive and mountain bike exploration, as well as walking.

- The Big Buddha
This 15 meter gold statue of the Lord Buddha in a seated position is one of Koh Samui's most popular ttractions. A peaceful place to come, relax and contemplate, this Koh Samui landmark is a must for visitors to Koh Samui.

- Hin Ta - Hin Yai
These fascinating rock formations have been carved by nature's elements to resemble male and female body parts. Called Hin Ta and Hin Yai, this area is perhaps one of the most photograph places in all of Koh Samui.

- Namuang Waterfall
Namuang Waterfall is located 10 km south from Nathon at Ban Thurian. There are 2 waterfalls.Namuang one is 18 meter high and can be reached by vehicle.

Namuang two is about 80 meters high and can only be reached by a 30 minute walk. The waterfalls are the most scenic on the island.

- Ancient House
A house made of teakwood without any nails at Ban Thale is the oldest house on the island. It was built approximately 150 years ago, is constructed of teak planks and shows off many beautiful woodcarvings.

- Hin Lad Waterfall
Hin Lad Waterfall is located 2 km south of Nathon Town.He can be reached by a 3-4 kilometer walk down a country foot walk. In evergreen, rain forest setting with palms and creepers, the waterfall have several levels with a cool pool for a fresh water swim.

- Snake Farm
A definite must see for all those visiting the island. Shows featuring snakes indigenous to Samui as well as Centipede, Scorpion and Cock Fighting shows. Informative and entertaining. Great for the entire family and worth looking for. Follow the signs seen throughout the island. Show times are 11.00 and 14.00 everyday.

- Butterfly Garden
Visiting a butterfly farm is a great way of getting up close to some beautiful creatures that one would otherwise only ever see as a flash of vivid color against green forest. The butterflies on the Samui farm flit about naturally amid tropical foliage, but they can't completely escape from view. Besides observing at close range some of the region's most beautiful butterflies, you can witness the breeding cycle of some species that are raised on the spot. The farm is set up on a hillside overlooking the ocean on the southeast corner of the island and makes for a pleasant short outing. Open: 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
