Rainforest Walks - Take a stroll or a walk in Tamborine Mountain National Park
There are 7 excellent walking tracks in Tamborine Mountain National Park - Most of these are short walks with picnic facilities in a lovely, cool and pristine natural environment. Wear sturdy shoes, a hat, protective clothing and sunscreen. Remember to take your own drinking water ? as this is not provided in the park. Creek water is unsuitable for drinking. Adventure - Feeling adventurous?
There are many adventurous activities to get involved in on Mount Tamborine - How about Hang Gliding to get your adrenalin flowing? At 1916ft/584m above sea level the views from Mt Tamborine are spectacular and the local Canungra Hang Gliding Club organise regular 'meets' for club members and visiting pilots. If you don't want to 'jump' yourself, but enjoy the spectacle of others chasing their adrenalin rush, then just sit back and relax and enjoy the wonderful and colourful scene of pilots taking off and gliding effortlessly through the air.
Or maybe test your agility and skills at Tamborine Mountain's own unique Adventure Parc, Australia's first. The 'Adventure Parc' is the largest ropes and adventure games course in our country, stretching through Thunderbird Park's ancient towering eucalypts commencing with a 7 metre high, 200 metre long rainforest aerial walkway. Added to this are 65 adventure games, 7 flying fox rides, Tarzan swinging ropes, suspended trapezes, single beams, double ropes, different types of bridges and much, much more. Phew! You are supplied with protective overalls, gloves and a harness, and experienced staff supervising your every move.
What about a hot air balloon ride taking in the amazing views of Tamborine Mountain from way up high. Try the produce as you follow one of the wine trails, and of course combine it all with an experience you've always wanted to try, a flight on a hot air balloon.
Shopping - Sometimes you just have to shop, we all know that it is good for us. Retail Therapy right?
Tamborine Mountain is blessed with a wide and diverse range of shopping 'opportunities' - No matter what your tastes, needs or desires there is a 'shop' for you. Mt Tamborine even has its very own Shopping Precinct, the famous 'Gallery Walk'. There are antique shops, art galleries, fashion shops, all sorts of food shops, cafes, restaurants, wineries and even a cuckoo clock shop. You can come on up on Market Day (2nd Sunday & last Sunday of the month) and buy local produce, art & craft, clothing and all manner of gifts large and small.
Wineries - Are you a lover of good wine or have family or a friend that does have a passion for wine?
Mount Tamborine - has a number of excellent local wineries and a number of retail outlets that sell local and regional wine. All wineries offer wine tasting and there are a number of winery tours that do all the driving and allow you to relax and do all the tasting. Purchase a bottle or two for yourself of take some home for a gift. Tamborine Mountain also has a world famous Distillery (with international awards a'plenty) which is well worth a visit to taste some of their fine liqueurs, grappa, eaux de vie, schnapps and other 'liquid' offerings. Sold in beautiful hand painted bottles they make wonderful gifts.

Eat, drink and be happy - There are many fine cafes and restaurants on Mount Tamborine as well as good pub food and take-aways. There are no excuses whatsoever to not eat to your hearts content and enjoy one of the pleasures of life. Try lunch at a winery and sample some good local wine or have lunch at one of the local breweries (yes, there are two!) and taste some lovely boutique beer. The local cheese factory is a must for cheese lovers, where you can taste the delicacies and buy gifts for your loved ones.

Rainforest Skywalk - For something really different
Take a stroll - The Tamborine Mountain Rainforest Skywalk in a setting of 30 private acres of magnificent rainforest alongside a kilometre of tumbling creek and rockpools offers visitors a unique 'walk' into the Mt Tamborine rainforest. Taking approximately one hour, visitors depart from the Rainforest Eco Gallery and begin the adventure on a spectacular elevated walkway through the beautiful middle and upper canopies of the rainforest. The walkway is a stable, high-tech steel structure enabling visitors to explore these canopies in a safe and secure way. It descends gradually to the lower canopy and follows points of interest including rockpools and waterfalls, a butterfly lookout, local history enclosure and sheltered rest areas along the way until reaching the amazing Cantilever. This is a 40 metre long span soaring 30 metres above the valley, with spectacular views over the creek and the rainforest canopies below.
Botanical Gardens Mt Tamborine
Be soothed and awed by the beauty - A visit to Tamborine Mountain is not complete without time spent in the Tamborine Mountain Botanic Gardens, where tropical meets temperate.
Covering 11 hectares, the Gardens consist of exotic species and the natural rainforest of Tamborine Mountain. Over 25 years, Volunteers have developed this property into the highly-photographic boutique Gardens that they are today.
Being 500 metres above sea level, Tamborine Mountain has a climate that is cooler and less humid than the lower coastal areas. This allows plants to be grown from cool climate and temperate zones. Flowering cherries, Rhododendron species, Magnolias, Camellias and Maples are a just a few of the genera on display.
