Narooma Hotels

Narooma is almost entirely surrounded by water and makes for an excellent holiday destination on the New South Wales South Coast. The areas name is said to be derived from a Wandandian Aboriginal word which means ‘clear blue waters’. And the title is definitely fitting in this case; enjoy the beautiful waterways for yourself with a stay in our Narooma accommodation.

The waters of Narooma offer almost as many options as our Narooma hotels; Wagonga River winds through the region and meets the calm estuary, and the river estuary opens to the sparkling water of the Pacific. There are lakes, surf beaches, river beaches, and wetlands to explore and plenty of activities to enjoy at each of them.

Head out on the open water during a stay in a hotel in Narooma and you might be lucky enough to spot some of the whales that frequent the water. Take advantage of the East Coast current and go fishing, the waters above the narrow section of Continental shelf that creates the current, teem with fish.

Another seafaring attraction not to miss while staying in a Narooma hotel is the Nature Reserve of Montague Island. Here you will find a myriad of birdlife including fairy penguins, crested terns, hawks, and sea eagles. Montague Island is also the only known fur seal habitat in New South Wales.
