The Ardagh is a quiet, family run hotel situated on the edge of Ardbear Bay in the heart of scenic Connemara. The hotel is well known for its blend of hospitality and comfort. Large suites overlooking the bay are available and all rooms are individually decorated.
The restaurant specialises in lobster, seafood and homegrown vegetables complimented by an excellent wine list. The lively town of Clifden is only 2km away and Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey and the Alcock and Brown landing site are all close by.

Kylemore Abbey
One of the most visited and photographed attractions in Ireland, this site features the Abbey, a Gothic church, Victorian walled gardens, multi-lingual audio-visual exhibitions, lake and woodland walks, a craft shop, and restaurant. 25 minutes from The Ardagh Hotel, Kylemore Abbey is reached by a picturesque drive through Inagh Valley and the very heart of the 12 Bens and Maumturk Mountains.
Connemara National Park at Letterfrack
Our national park takes in nearly 3000 hectares of grass and woodlands, bog, heath, and mountains—including several peaks of The Twelve Bens. Plant life features purple moor grass, heathers, insect-eating sundew and butterwort, plus milkwort, bog cotton, bog myrtle and orchids. Birdlife includes meadow pipits, skylarks, stonechats, kestrels, and peregrine falcon. Mammals in the park include the Connemara pony, red deer, rabbits, foxes, stoats, shrews, bats, and pine marten.
