Anglesea is a beautiful coastal town that has plenty of things for everyone. You can swim at the surf beach or if you are after a calmer spot for the young children, you can swim in the Anglesea River or take a short drive to the sheltered Point Roadknight which is 5 minutes by car. Point Roadknight is also an excellent spot to go rock pool rambling with the kids. There is plenty of bush walks nearby and the breathtaking surfcoast walk starts within the park grounds. You can take a drive to Erskine Falls in Lorne or to the new Tree Top Walk at Apollo Bay. Go 4WD driving or mountain bike riding out the back of Anglesea. Fish off the jetties along the Anglesea River. Hire a canoe and paddle down the river. Learn to surf at one of the surf schools. Have a picnic or BBQ at Coogarah Park. Relax up the street at one of the cafe's and enjoy coffee and cake or brunch. Take a tour of the open cut coal mine. If it is cold and wet take a drive to Waurn Ponds (25 minutes) and watch a movie at the cinema.
