DINING IN NORTH ADELAIDE
There are many eateries in North Adelaide mainly located through 2 thoroughfares, Melbourne Street in Lower North Adelaide and O?Connell Street in upper North Adelaide.
One of the best is "value for money" CAFE SCUZZI on the corner of Tynte and O'Connell Streets. The smell of pizzas permeates the air at SCUZZI. There is a wide selection of Italian favourites as well as some mouthwatering desserts.
For an authentic Australian Pub experience make yourselves known to the young publican James Brock at the WELLINGTON HOTEL on Wellington Square, try either his pub meals in the bar or his Garden Restaurant for A La Carte. Do not hesitate to mention that you are staying at the Twiss's Heritage Accommodation.
The AMARIN THAI located at 108 Tynte Street offers Thai food. They offer a wealth of real treats on the menu, all of which show that, at AMARIN, texture and taste is the foremost priority.
Taste South Australia's best curry at BEYOND INDIA located at 168 O'Connell. Ask for George, one of North Adelaide's most charming head waiters/managers. The menu offers Southern and Northern Indian dishes.
The CALEDONIAN HOTEL is a great choice for group bookings or dinner parties. Ask for Rod (owner) and request the table along side the wall of red wine! The beautifully restored Caledonian Hotel has a range of dining and drinking options including a casual cafe.
The LION HOTEL is located at 161 Melbourne Street, North Adelaide. The city's business movers and shakers can all be found here. The Lion remains a foundation in this city, whether its for a magnificent lunch or dinner, or just a coffee and cake over the newspaper.
The menu at YAKITORI DAIKICHI consists of many varieties of things grilled on sticks, which is what 'yakitori' means. The yakitori master, Andrew Osborn, talks cheerfully to his customers, as he faces them standing over his always-active griller. Split a few skewers with friends. It is a grand way to eat.
BEYOND INDIA has been in O'Connell Street for 7 years and has now been serving NAHG guests for 5 years. They offer dine-in, take away and deliveries and offer NAHG guests room service. They also offer catering services for private functions from finger foods to buffet style, and also hold cooking classes.
THE BAKERY ON O'CONNELL stays open almost 24 hours a day and has a great range of freshly baked on the premises, pies, pasties, breads, and large choice of cakes and pastry.

- The experience of staying in an historic cottage (built 1879).
- Being in the flight path didn't really bother us but being next door to a supermarket back dock, particularly on a Monday morning was very, very noisy
- Close to free bus service, restaurants, supermarkets, everything really.
