Turistic visit

We begin our tour for the Walk Sarasate, which joins the most ancient part of the city with the rest. Here we observe the Monument to the Jurisdictions of Navarre and the Church of Saint Nicholas. We continue our walk towards the Plaza of the Castle, nucleus concerning which the city has been growing. From it departs, on the one hand the Avenue Carlos III, where one finds the Theatre Gayarre and the Palace of the Statutory Deputation of Navarre. I joust in the opposite side of the square, we take the street Chapitela and, turning to the right, come to the street Courier (known because for it the bulls pass in the famous confinements of San Fermin, from July 6 to July 14) and the street Curia.
Ascending for the latter, we come to the Cathedral of Santa Maria; The current Cathedral of Pamplona, of Gothic style, it gets up on the ruins of the previous one of Romanesque character ruined in 1391. The construction includes several centuries, it was begun to raise in 1394, and was continued during the whole XVth century, until 1501. In the XVIIIth century the front raised: there fell down the Romanesque one, which remained up to this moment, and neoclassic other one was constructed, adding besides, for the feet, a section to the Cathedral, all this between 1783-1803.
Continuing for San Jose, we come to the Recash, where the walls form a viewing-point from where it is possible to observe the part of the city that stays to another side of the river. Returning to the street Chapitela and turning to the left side, we take the street Merchants, from where every July 6 there is thrown the traditional Powerful kick with which they begin the San Fermin. Taking a few stairs that exist to his right, we will be able to visit the Museum Sarasate, the Market of Santo Domingo and, continuing for the slope of the same name, the Museum of Navarre.
Of return, we meet other one of the emblematic churches of the zone, that of San Saturnino or San Cernin, Gothic church that, as that of Saint Nicholas, was recovering a military and defensive function.
The third church that we might emphasize is the church of The St Lawrence, which is located opposite to the Park of the Taconera and shelters San Fermin in one of his chapels.
We have mentioned the Park of the Taconera, which is given to the old town of the city. It is a question of a few very well elegant gardens and with remains of the walls that former they were surrounding the city, in which pits a small zoo is. The above mentioned walls were converging on the Citadel that was constructed to monitor the city and that today constitutes a great green zone. And it is that in Pamplona the parks and gardens abound: the Half moon, Biurdana's meadows, the Water-course, Yamaguchi's gardens...

Navarre has woven a rich studding of uses and customs: beautiful traditions, carnivals, dances, rural sport, ball, cows and txaranga in the streets, jots... And without the San Fermines forgets.
The Carnivals in Navarre are beautiful, personal, colouring and with own prominent figures. Those of Lanz, Alsasua, Ituren or Zubieta, at the end of January and, overcoat, in February, are the most popular.

Wines and warehouses

Navarre is a land of big wines. Thousands of hectares of grapevines have fed, from unmemorable times, an exquisite tradition vinícola. Under the Denomination of Origin of Navarre, they wait for excellent broths and warehouses.
